Throughout March, members and supporters of the Dwarf Sports Association UK (DSAuk) took to the water to participate in the British Long Distance Swimming Association’s One Hour and Half an Hour Challenge. This year, three pools were booked across the UK—in Scotland, Derby, and Liverpool—giving participants ample opportunity to test their endurance and raise funds for DSAuk’s core activities.

For many, this was a chance to push their limits, with returning participants striving to beat their personal records from last year. At the same time, a wave of enthusiastic newcomers embraced the challenge for the first time, adding to the excitement of the events.

Each event was a resounding success, not only in terms of athletic achievement but also as a fundraising effort for DSAuk. The support from members, families, and friends contributed to a fantastic community spirit, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and perseverance in sports.

A huge well done to everyone who took part – you smashed it! Also thank you to the volunteers who helped count lengths.

A special thank you to Doug Whitlam, a past president of Swim England, for joining us poolside in Derby. It was fantastic to have him there, chatting with members and offering plenty of encouragement for the future.

There’s still time to donate and support DSAuk’s mission!
