Nicole Turner, a member of Dwarf Sports Association UK (DSAuk) and celebrated Paralympic swimmer, has announced her retirement from competitive swimming. This decision marks the conclusion of a truly inspiring career, Nicole burst onto the international stage at just 14 years old, making her Paralympic debut at the Rio 2016 Games. Competing against the world’s best, her determination and skill quickly became evident, solidifying her place among Paralympic Ireland’s most promising athletes.

Her career reached new heights at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where Nicole claimed a silver medal in the S6 50m butterfly event. That achievement was a testament to her tireless dedication. Most recently, Nicole competed in her third Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, once again showcasing her resilience and passion for the sport.

Over nearly a decade, her journey has been defined by extraordinary accomplishments and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Nicole’s retirement signals the end of a chapter, but her impact on para sports and the swimming community will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations.
