DSAuk Patron Eleanor Simmonds OBE and her Strictly Dance partner Nikita have made it to Week Seven of BBC Strictly Come Dancing.

Ellie hung up her goggles in 2021 announcing her retirement from the pool after winning 5 Gold Medals for team GB. Since then, Ellie has been no stranger to our tv screens, as she was part of the broadcasting team for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

In August 2022, it was announced that Ellie had been selected for BBC Strictly Come Dancing. Strictly Come Dancing famously known for its Dazzling routines, outrageous sets and flamboyant costumes. This was amazing news and something which excited many in the dwarfism community. Strictly would be an exciting new challenge for her but something we all knew she would embrace and excel at.

Ellie and her Strictly partner Nikita have taken to the famous ballroom and already tackled the Salsa, Quickstep, Waltz and Cha Cha Cha. Ellie is breaking down barriers and showing that anything is possible. Watching Ellie and Nikita every Saturday night on prime time television is #DSAmazing.
