DSAuk hosted a hugely successful Introduction to Shooting event on Saturday 29th January 2022 for people with a physical impairment. The event was held in partnership with Cerebral Palsy Sport, LimbPower and Wheelpower and funded by Sport England from the Tackling Inequalities Fund (TIF).

The event was run by staff and volunteers at the NSRA Aldersley Shooting Centre where 19 people registered to try their hand at air rifle and air pistol target shooting.

The shooting centre made sure that everyone was catered for, including making adaptations to 5 of the shooting positions to accomodate wheelchair users.

Everybody who took part enjoyed having a go at air target shooting with several looking to find opportunities where they can continue with the sport nearer to home.

One lady commented: “Had a great time here today, well worth the 3 hour journey each way. Very friendly team, and I think I may have found a new hobby. Thank you for this opportunity.”
